Real World Wumpus

About

Real World Wumpus is a project created for BarCamp Brighton in 2007. In it you use your mobile phone to play a version of the classic text-mode game, Hunt the Wumpus, by scanning QR codes.

Update May 2009: The Wumpus had another outing as part of Brighton Outdoor Gaming festival (BOGfest). This time, the cave was chalked out on a 15m x 15m stretch of tarmac by the seaside. See the blog post at Cogapp or photos on Flickr.

DIY

Want to set up your own Wumpus somewhere? For a wall-chart version, download this PDF and print the codes out onto stickers (Avery L7173 format - email me if you want other formats). For a larger area, print these A3 sheets and stck them to the ground with masking tape. You will also need to refer to this handy diagram of how each room number links to the others.
